| greetings all.
So I haven't updated for this long because I can't get xanga to be supported with my minimum band with in Cameroon. I'm currently typing from the great country of South Africa, I'm here on vacation. I must say that this may be one of the greatest experiences, ever. It truly has been an unforgettable, educational trip.
Anyways, if you're interested about my life in Cameroon check out www.zealousmoi.livejournal.com
you could always contact me at writetojlee@gmail.com cheers.
by the way, in SA traffic lights are called robots and hooting replaces our vocabulary for honking.

| currently in Paris during my overnight flight to Cameroon.
the total hours of my entire itinerary via Air France: Seoul to Paris: 11hours Stay in Paris: 20 hours Paris to Yaounde: 11 hours = 42 hours
but guess what, the Lord blessed me with a free upgrade to BUSINESS CLASS, baby~ The ticket my mom purchased was not a discount price since it's open for a year, so the kind flight attendant at the counter decided to put me with the rich folks. It was a lovely surprise. But such an ironic luxury to commence my trip to Africa. Let me just say, business class is da bomb. the abundant space of my seat allowed me to sit Indian style. The best part however was definitely how the entire seat unfolds into a mini bed while my head rested on a down pillow. Instead of plastic cups, champagne bubbles in fancy glassware. Flight attendants spread crisp white table cloth for you to place the meal.
Returning to Paris after a year and a half was a bit eerie. It made me reminisce heavily during my days of Barcelona. The oddest part is not having my confidants, Kirsten and Jezmin at my side. Those days of my junior year are long gone~ The city is as glamorous as always with the handsome men accompanied by gorgeous women. Something I did notice today is that Parisian couples have this certain gaze in their eyes that illuminates intense romance and passionate love making. I believe the streets of Paris send some type of love signal to her inhabitants that produces this.
Surprisingly, the streets remained familiar and I didn't get too lost. I started my 3 hour time in the city right by starting off with a scrumptious nutella and banana crepe. miss you jezmin~
this is for kiki: remember those AMAZING deep fried cauliflower? oh and them fries~~!!
here are some shots to make my sister drool from my last meal in the motherland:
the white stuff is alabalone .. and i have no idea what the orange stuff is called in english. the orange stuff leaves the sweetest after taste in your mouth that reminded me of the aftermath after a lovely fresh steamed artichoke. weird huh?
i already miss you two way too much :(
i end with this shot of my tacky hotel room. it's not business class, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the bed. I haven't slept in one for over a month. by the way, i'm taking malaria medicince and took my yellow fever shot before I left... pray for my health please. | | |

| First, I thought I would leave lovely Korea towards the end of september to venture off to Cameroon. Then not too long after my arrival I was told notified about a change of plans and I would have to depart at the end of August. Leaving in August seemed too soon. Last Friday however, my mom told me I have to now leave on the 29, of July. my time here was too short... other plans of traveling to thailand, china and japan trickled away. i thought i would spend august with my mom in her new house, but that will no longer happen. the excitment i had stored to go camping is now only a wish. the reason why I have to leave so damn early is so that I can have my own Spanish class. I will be teaching levels 1 and 2. I need to go to attend orientation, plan the curriculum and prepare for the school year. I'm thankful for this opportunity most definitely, but can't help but feel sad. its ok though, i must go fulfill my personal legend. anyways, i'll be back in Korea in December for 3 weeks during my winter vacation. last time i saw snow fall in Korea was about 8-10 years ago... i look forward to the holidays :) all this does mean that I may return to the states earlier than the end of next year, perhaps in the summer. i'm just not so sure if that's where i want to be... maybe i'll move to NY or SF -- where oh where will I be a year from now? | | |
